Auditions for ChildrenSong of New Jersey

If your child loves to sing, ChildrenSong is the perfect place to be! Many of our young singers also participate in sports, school musicals, and other activities while being a part of our community youth choir. Our choir performs both a cappella and accompanied masterworks, and we regularly travel abroad to share our music. ChildrenSong singers are known for their passion for music, with many going on to pursue music degrees or joining college choirs, feeling well-prepared for those experiences.

Auditioning is easy and fun! Simply have your child sing Happy Birthday or another familiar song, and then they will be asked to repeat some pitches played on the piano. We look forward to hearing their voice!

About us

ChildrenSong of
New Jersey

founded and directed by Polly Murray, is a choral music education and performance based program in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Established in 2000, the program serves children in three choirs between the ages of 8 and 18 from Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties. The choir endeavors to enrich the lives of children by providing quality music instruction while attaining the highest level of artistic excellence!

“Music enhances the education of our children by helping them to make connections and broadening the depth with which they think and feel. If we are to hope for a society of culturally literate people, music must be a vital part of our children’s education.”

~Yo-Yo Ma

What our alumni say about the choir

In ChildrenSong I not only gained a second family, I gained so much knowledge and experience. I got to grow my love for music in a safe and loving environment. Ms. Murray didn’t just teach us songs, she taught us techniques and musicality. I even had the opportunity to sing in Italy, Iceland, and New Orleans. I also got to make such amazing friendships. I still talk to my friends to this day and they will always be some of the most special people in my life. Though we don’t see each other often, whenever we do it’s like we didn’t skip a beat! Joining ChildrenSong was an amazing experience and something I’d encourage to those who love music as much as I do! ~ Joanna Barton

I was here for eight years. This is a choir that I will definitely miss. Went to many places around the country for its annual choir tour. Absolutely recommend this program to children who have interests in singing and music. ~ Kyle Sheridan

What our singers say ~

Choir is my second home! ~ Grace

ChildrenSong has given opportunities I have only dreamed of, with an amazing and talented community around me. ChildrenSong is a place where I can shine!  ~ Aryna

Choir has made each and every week as amazing as possible. I started choir in 4th grade and being in the choir has made me a better person and singer. The moment you walk into rehearsal you feel an overwhelming amount of community, love, and support. Over the years this choir has taught me that even though we are all different singers, we are able to blend our voices together in harmony, while learning all the music takes Immense effort And time, because of the work that Choir put in it all comes together. The choir is like a family to each member. The Choir has also lead to great experiences, We have traveled all around the United States and further To perform our repertoire. The great experiences are what I enjoy most about the choir. Finally, the Choir is a home to so many people. I love coming to rehearsal each and every day and growing as a singer and person. ~ Avery
